These events provide vital opportunities for refugee background young people to build connections with others in their communities. Events may include workshops, sharing kai and sports days. Youth Settlement volunteers empower rangatahi, provide safe environments and help create spaces where young people can thrive.

Help a former refugee gain their driver licence in 2024. It’s fun, rewarding and life-changing! We are currently seeking exceptional driving practice volunteers. People who care deeply about supporting new kiwis from a refugee background to resettle well and reach their goals. You will need to be a patient, confident driver available to practice twice a week with your learner in a dual control car until they are test ready. It is fun, rewarding and life changing!

Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We have an opportunity for a proficient administrator to help out a few hours a week doing the real mahi behind the service. This position entails assisting with grant writing, accountability reporting, approaching business leaders for sponsorship and organising fundraising events.

If you want to contribute to your community but don't have regular times available then this is the role for you! Our events include auctions and markets, raffles, gala occasions and community activities. We need people for collecting donations, putting up posters, making sandwiches or greeting guests, anything to do with putting an event on. Our Hospice Whanganui's Fundraising and Events team raise funds to provide free palliative care for our community.
