In Blenheim we are running a “mixed model” training (partly at home in your own time and partly face to face at the Service Centre) and our placements last for just 6 weeks. Youth Settlement Volunteers provide help to Settlement Youth Workers for events that support refugee background young people in their settlement journey. These events provide vital opportunities for refugee background young people to build connections with others in their communities. Events may include workshops, sharing kai and sports days. Youth Settlement volunteers empower rangatahi, provide safe environments and help create spaces where young people can thrive.

We are looking for friendly volunteers to join our small volunteer teams and assist former refugee families in settling around Masterton. You will receive comprehensive training and support for your role and have an enjoyable and diverse cultural experience. Refugee support volunteers work in teams, sharing support tasks for the assigned refugee family based on availability throughout the week. Your involvement is flexible! NZRC staff and other volunteers will support your volunteering role.

We are looking for some remarkable women willing to volunteer their time to take a refugee-background woman for driving practice. The learners have had lessons with a driving school and now need practice to prepare for their restricted or full licence test.
