At Alzheimers Tauranga we offer Cognitive Stimulation Therapy sessions which is a specific, evidence based programme of group activities and stimulation. The aim of CST is to get people's minds active and engaged in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. We need co-facilitators to help the trained Facilitator run these sessions.You will be helping and encouraging the person with Dementia to participate in the stimulating activities in a non judgemental and inclusive social environment .

Every year Emergency Services get together too collect food donations for our food banks. Help us make a difference for 2025! Volunteer with the Young Onset Dementia COGS Café group at Alzheimers Tauranga, supporting individuals aged 50-65 living with early-onset dementia. Engage in meaningful conversations and activities, helping provide socialisation, cognitive stimulation, and respite for both participants and their carers. This role would be beginning in Feb 2025

We work with over 200 youth in Auckland, Christchurch, the Waikato and BoP regions offering 170 various programmes per year. We are a small NGO and require all the volunteer support we can get to operate well, so we highly value the input that volunteers offer us here at Recreate.
