Recreate NZ
We are after volunteers for our gardening days on: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8.30am - 4pm, departing from Ellerslie, or you could meet us at our garden locations in Waiau Pa and Kumeu. (around 10am - 3pm) Or our Product Making Group on Thursdays- 8.30am - 4pm, based in Sandringham. We support young people with intellectual and learning disabilities, teaching them gardening, horticulture and orchard maintenance skills, and kitchen skills.

Organise a group day and spend the day outdoors on Waiheke working to improve its wetland habitats and enjoy the wonderful environment of the Island.

Waiowhiro Stream Care Group
Are you interested in revitalising a trout spawning stream that flows from the base of Mount Ngongotaha to Lake Rotorua? The Waiowhiro Stream Care Group is made up of enthusiastic volunteers who remove pest plant species, replace them with native plants and clear rubbish from the stream banks and out of the stream. The majority of the work involves weeding and rubbish collection and the annual planting day is in August (best working bee of the year :) )
