Board Volunteer (Trustee) wanted
Life Linc Charitable Trust supported by Volunteer Nelson

Make a real difference (with a small-time commitment).
We’re looking for two new board members to join our dedicated team behind an amazing local charity delivering a vital service across the Nelson–Tasman region.
This is your chance to step into a meaningful leadership role, helping shape the future of a service our community relies on, while also building your own governance skills and experience.
** Why Join Us?**
- Make impact that matters: Your input helps ensure people in our community can access the support they need, when they need it most.
- Grow your leadership: Build confidence and capability in governance, strategy, and decision-making, supported by a friendly, practical board.
- Be part of something special: Join a values-driven organisation with heart, purpose, and real community connection.
- Help steer the future: Be part of the conversations that shape our direction, sustainability, and long-term impact.
Who We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you bring:
- Leadership or management experience (any industry), or a strong interest in governance and a willingness to learn.
- Skills or interest in finance, marketing, business, fundraising, strategy, risk, community engagement, or similar.
- A commitment to equity, ethics, and community wellbeing.
- A hands-on, can-do attitude and someone who asks good questions, follows through, and brings positive energy.
What You’ll Do (Board Volunteer / Trustee)
You’ll be part of a team that provides governance and oversight—helping the organisation stay strong, sustainable, and focused. You’ll contribute to:
- Strategy & direction: Keeping us aligned to our mission and focused on what matters most.
- Financial oversight: Reviewing budgets and supporting sound decision-making.
- Policy & risk: Helping ensure we’re safe, compliant, and future-ready.
- Support & accountability: Backing our Operations Manager with good governance and clear oversight.
- Fundraising & advocacy: Helping champion our work and strengthen our sustainability.
- Board culture & development: Supporting a strong board and helping develop future trustees.
What We Ask of Board Volunteers
All trustees share three core responsibilities:
- Duty of Care: Be engaged, prepared, and thoughtful in decision-making.
- Duty of Loyalty: Put the organisation and community first.
- Duty of Obedience: Keep us compliant and aligned with our purpose.
Ready to use your skills for something bigger?
If you want to give back locally, contribute to a cause with real impact, and be part of a board that’s practical, supportive, and purpose-driven, we’d love to hear from you.
