Help shape the future of climate action in Nelson Tasman

Do you believe Nelson Tasman can become one of Aotearoa’s leading low-emissions, climate-resilient regions?

The Nelson Tasman Climate Forum is looking for passionate, thoughtful and collaborative person to join our newly incorporated charitable organisation as our next Chair.

This is an exciting moment for the Forum. After several years of building strong partnerships, delivering the Nelson Tasman Climate Action Festival, supporting community climate initiatives and connecting people across our region, we have recently become an incorporated organisation with a new governance structure.

Now we’re looking for new leaders to help shape our next chapter.

About us

The Nelson Tasman Climate Forum exists to weave our community together around climate action. Check out our website for more details.

Our next Chair

Our current Chair, Joanna Santa Barbara, will step down at the end of 2026 after helping guide the Forum through incorporation.

We are seeking expressions of interest from people interested in taking on this important leadership role.

The Chair will:

  • Provide strategic leadership alongside the Leadership Group
  • Support and mentor our paid contractors
  • Chair meetings
  • Meet online with staff approximately once a week
  • Represent the Forum at events and meetings
  • Help maintain key stakeholder relationships
  • Grow the Forum’s impact and profile
  • This is a voluntary leadership role with an annual stipend of $3,000 in recognition of the time and commitment involved.

The Leadership Group will put forward a candidate for Chair, with the appointment confirmed by members at our AGM in November.
