This is going to be our 7th year of celebrating the TGA Diwali Festival with our community and we expect 4000 people to come to the Historic Village. We ask for a gold coin (donation) at the entry gate - there will be free diya painting and Rangoli art to join in, as well as many fantastic ethnic craft stalls and delicious vegetarian Indian Street food on site.

We need beautiful people like you to help:

  • set-up and pack down the TGA Diwali Festival site (stage, sound system, tents, site theming)....on the event day from 9 am until 11 pm.
  • sell fancy Indian outfits as a fundraiser from 2 - 8 pm......this job deals with cash, and a happy you who will let these vibrant clothes fly out to our children and families who want to dress up for the occasion.
  • manage the Rangoli art area from 2 - 8 pm.....you can help us create some fun, simple patterns with chalk and colourful rice flour on the ground for children to get immersed in Rangoli, or paint with chalk pens on small traditional diya lamps to light later or take home. This job requires people who like to work with children. Please note that parents will be with their children at all times, you are not asked to be a babysitter.
  • manage the greeting at the gate area....you can help us greet 4000 people who are coming through the gate with a SMILE, hand them a program, a free small diya lamp, a free Indian sweet and a booklet about Bhakti Yoga and the deeper meaning behind Diwali, from 2 - 9 pm.
  • manage the sacred quiet zone where people can light their diya for a moment of inner preace and prayer, from 2 - 9 pm.
  • take some great colourful photos of the Diwali event.....if you are good with cameras and you want to expand on your portfolio or experience, this is a wonderful opportunity to help us out and get a hands-on experience to be one of our media crew, from 2 - 9 pm.
  • sell delicious soulful mango lassi and lemon zinger drinks we made to our hungry Diwali crowd as a fundraiser, from 2 - 9 pm.
