Volunteer Treasurer – Make Your Skills Count

Looking for an opportunity to give back, make a difference and use your financial skills for something that matters?

Sexual Abuse Support & Healing (SASH) is looking for a Volunteer Treasurer to join our Board and play an important part in supporting the future of our organisation.

SASH provides specialist support and services for people impacted by sexual harm across Nelson, Tasman, Blenheim and the West Coast. Behind that mahi is a passionate team and Board committed to making sure these vital services remain strong, sustainable and available to the people who need them.

As our Treasurer, you’ll bring your financial knowledge to the Board table, helping us make confident decisions and plan for the future.

This isn't about doing the day-to-day bookkeeping. It's about bringing your expertise, perspective and ideas to an organisation making a real difference in our communities.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Use your financial skills to support meaningful community mahi
• Help shape SASH’s financial direction and long-term sustainability
• Provide insight around budgets, financial reporting and planning
• Help the Board understand financial opportunities and risks
• Contribute to strong financial governance and decision-making
• Work alongside a committed Board, General Manager and wider SASH team
• Build or expand your own governance experience
• Be part of an organisation creating positive change across our communities

Could this be you?

You might be an accountant or finance professional, have commercial or business experience, or simply have strong financial knowledge and a desire to put those skills to good use.  Previous Board or not-for-profit experience would be great, but it isn't essential.

What matters most is that you bring sound financial judgement, a collaborative approach and a genuine connection with SASH’s kaupapa and the work we do.

Your expertise can help ensure SASH remains financially strong and sustainable, allowing our team to focus on what matters most — supporting people and strengthening our communities.

This is a voluntary Board position.
