Organisational background
EcoSci Creative Events Charitable Trust was established to bring biological and environmental science to our community through creative, hands-on events. Since launching Fungi Fest NZ in 2024, we've run dozens of workshops, talks, walks and festival days exploring mycology and the natural world, often in partnership with organisations like Envirohub BOP. We're guided by our commitment to accessibility, cultural inclusion and honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Benefits of volunteering with us
- Be part of a small, passionate team making a genuine difference in the Bay of Plenty community
- Gain or build governance and nonprofit finance experience
- Flexible, remote-friendly role that fits around your other commitments
- Connect with a creative, science-loving community and attend our events
- Contribute your skills to something tangible
The impact you'll have
Sound financial management is what allows us to keep running free and low-cost events, apply for funding with confidence, and plan future festivals with certainty. As treasurer, you'll help ensure EcoSci can keep removing barriers to science education for our community, now and into the future.
