Radio Lollipop Volunteer - Dunedin

Radio Lollipop is seeking volunteers to join our brand new team at Dunedin Hospital.

As a Radio Lollipop Volunteer you will visit children in hospital (as part of a team) one evening a week to provide a much-needed escape through fun and play by offering games, crafts of just someone to talk to.

Radio Lollipop is a charity dedicated to providing care, comfort, play and entertainment for sick children in hospital. We are looking for volunteers to make a positive difference in the lives of children in hospital on a regular basis with a minimum commitment of 12 months. Full training will be provided before you visit children on the wards as well as an annual refresher session.

Radio Lollipop Dunedin will be operating in the hospital Monday - Thursday evenings from 5.30pm - 8.30pm.

Each volunteer brings their own unique strengths / imaginations to children in hospital. You will need to be adaptable and sensitive to provide times of quiet play and times of more upbeat fun with a wide range of age groups. You will be required to be a team player with a good understanding of hospital and Radio Lollipop expectations. All volunteers are required to be over 18 years old.

In NZ we are based in Dunedin, Christchurch, Starship, Counties Manukau, Waitakere & Whangarei Hospitals. The "radio" broadcasts live "on air" shows from Christchurch.
