About the Role

Spectrum Connections Charitable Trust is seeking caring, reliable and enthusiastic Volunteer Events Support Coordinators to help deliver safe, welcoming and inclusive events for autistic, ADHD and other neurodivergent children, young people and their families.

Working alongside the General Manager, staff and other volunteers, you will help create positive experiences by supporting children and young people, assisting with event logistics, and ensuring families feel welcomed and supported at our programmes and community events.

Key Responsibilities

As a Volunteer Events Support Coordinator you will:

• Support children and young people during Spectrum Connections events and programmes.
• Assist with childcare and activities during parent support group meetings.
• Help supervise sensory spaces at community events such as NeuroFest 2026 and other family events.
• Welcome families and help create a calm, inclusive and supportive environment.
• Assist with event set-up and pack-down.
• Help prepare and serve refreshments, including making tea and coffee for parents and caregivers.
• Assist with catering and general event support as required.
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure events run smoothly and safely.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone who has:

• A friendly, caring and approachable nature.
• Confidence working with children and young people.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability and a willingness to be part of a team.
• The ability to remain calm and flexible in busy environments.
• An understanding of autism, ADHD or neurodiversity is an advantage, but not essential, as training and support will be provided.

Experience working with children, youth, disability, education or community organisations would be beneficial but is not essential.

Time Commitment

Flexible, depending on your availability. Volunteers may assist at:

• Parent support group meetings.
• School holiday programmes and family events.
• Community events, including NeuroFest 2026.
• Occasional weekend or evening events.

Most volunteer opportunities range from 2–6 hours per event.
