**About the role **

We are seeking a volunteer Treasurer to join the Youthline Wellington board. This is a key governance role with additional practical finance responsibilities. The Treasurer supports financial stewardship, sustainability, compliance and reporting, while helping coordinate or undertake core finance processes including payroll, GST, banking, annual accounts and regulatory filing.

**Key responsibilities include: **

Supporting preparation of the annual budget and regular reporting to the board

Monitoring liquidity, cashflow, reserves, variances and financial risks

Helping maintain appropriate internal controls, delegations and payment safeguards

Supporting payroll, GST, banking and expense processes

Working with the Manager, accountant, auditor/reviewer, IRD, bank and funders as needed

Supporting annual accounts, audit/review and Charities Services filing obligations

**We are looking for someone with: **

Strong financial literacy and good judgement

Experience with accounting, finance, nonprofit financial oversight, payroll, GST, audit or funding

Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial board members

Integrity, attention to detail and a collaborative style

A formal accounting qualification, or equivalent experience, is highly desirable

**Time commitment ** The Treasurer role includes the base board-member commitment plus additional time for operational finance administration, budgeting, year-end reporting, audit/review, filing and banking. At peak periods, this may require up to around 20 additional hours per month at peak times.
