Are you community-minded, practical, friendly, and keen to make a real difference locally? Pyes Pa Hall is looking for a new Community Hall Committee Member to join our small, dedicated team and help keep this much-loved community space running smoothly.
About the role This is a hands-on volunteer role for someone who enjoys being involved, meeting people, and helping to organise and support community activities. You will be part of a friendly committee of four people who work together to manage the hall, support bookings, organise maintenance, and help with community events.
What you’ll help with
- Helping organise and run community hall events
- Being an active member of a small, supportive committee
- Assisting with the day-to-day management of the hall
- Getting quotes for repairs, improvements, or services when needed
- Helping organise maintenance and follow-up jobs
- Showing potential hirers around the hall and answering basic questions
- Communicating with hall users, contractors, and other committee members
We’re looking for someone who
- Enjoys helping people and contributing to the local community
- Is reliable, organised, and willing to be actively involved
- Has good communication and people skills
- Is comfortable following up tasks and working with others
- Is practical and willing to help solve small day-to-day hall matters
- Helpful but not essential
- Living in or close to Pyes Pa Hall
- Being available during the day from time to time
- Having experience with events, maintenance coordination, administration, community groups, or customer service
