Board Member Trustee for HomeShare for Her

HomeShare for Her is a Nelson-Tasman non-profit organisation providing a free service that enables independent women to connect with each other to find and share homes, build social connections and create affordable housing solutions.

Our service is primarily web-based through our website portal, which gives members the tools to create profiles and listings, communicate with each other, make connections and explore home-sharing opportunities. We also organise regular opportunities for members to meet in person.

We have a part-time coordinator who provides administrative and technical support to members, manages communications and marketing, and organises meet-up events. Since August 2026, the coordinator role has been shared with the Nelson Women’s Centre.

We are seeking several volunteer Trustees to join our governance board and help guide the organisation's growth and impact.

We welcome women with experience or skills in any of the following:

• governance and strategy
• housing
• community organisations or working with women
• finance or accounting
• website development or technology
• marketing and communications
• business development.

We are particularly in need of someone with Treasurer (and Xero) experience or interest.

The most important requirement is a commitment to attend meetings, contribute some extra time for Board tasks as needed, and support the organisation's mission.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help support one of the innovative housing solutions in our region, helping women connect to find and share homes, and strengthen the wellbeing of women in our community.

We welcome expressions of interest from people of diverse backgrounds and experiences who are passionate about making a difference for women in the Nelson Tasman region.
