Volunteer Roles – Helping Families Nelson Trust

Helping Families Nelson supports whānau across the region with essential items such as clothing, books, toys, baby gear and household goods. We are currently seeking volunteers for a range of roles.

Priority Role:
• Assisting families during Open Days — greeting visitors, supporting them to find what they need and helping maintain a welcoming, respectful environment.

Additional Opportunities:
• Sorting clothing and donated goods • Washing and preparing items • Collections and deliveries • Event support • Book sorting • Puzzle checking • Gardening and general maintenance

We welcome volunteers who are kind, dependable, and comfortable working in a community‑focused environment. Training and support are provided.
