We don't have all the answers to homelessness, but what we can offer is free clean laundry and genuine conversation to people doing it tough.
As the Asset Leader for Moana, you'll be the heartbeat of our Tauranga laundry pod, keeping our two washers and two dryers running smoothly so our volunteers can focus on what matters most: the people in front of them.
You don't need to be a technician or tradie. You just need to be organised, willing to give things a go, and comfortable staying in the loop via WhatsApp and Asana.
A fortnight in the life of an Asset Leader might look like:
- Completing fortnightly checks to make sure Moana is clean, stocked, and ready to serve
- Coordinating servicing and repairs. You're the point of contact, not necessarily the one with the spanner
- Tackling the annual maintenance list, including dryer duct cleaning and diesel heater upkeep
- Liaising with the Orange Sky asset team at HQ to flag issues and keep things moving
You'll thrive in this role if you're:
- Handy with a spanner (no formal qualifications needed!)
- A clear communicator
- Someone who takes quiet pride in keeping things running behind the scenes
Up to 5 flexible hours per week.
