Broadgreen House - two families and two stories

Nelson City Council Arts & Heritage supported by Volunteer Nelson

Logo for Nelson City Council Arts & Heritage

Broadgreen House in Stoke, Nelson, offers a snapshot of the two families that lived here from when the house was built in 1855 through to the 1960s. The house is filled with Victorian furniture that shows how people lived in the days of our great grandparents.

If you would like to be a part of sharing the story of the house and the families that lived here, then please come and join our volunteer team.

We often hear our volunteers say that they want to "give something back to the community". Volunteering is a rewarding way meet people and learn more about Nelson's heritage.

We are looking for availability weekdays and on the weekend.
The shift pattern is:
Monday to Saturday 11:30am to 3pm.
Sunday 10:30am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm.

Many of our volunteers do a regular shift every week, once a fortnight or once month.
