Board Member – Help Shape the Future of Volunteering in Taupō
Volunteer Great Lake Taupō is looking for new Board Members to help guide our organisation and strengthen volunteering across the Taupō District.
Our aim is to enrich and grow our volunteering community by creating meaningful connections between volunteers and organisations, celebrating volunteering, and working collaboratively with others to strengthen our community.
What You’ll Do
As a Board Member, you will help provide the governance and strategic direction that enables Volunteer Taupō to achieve its purpose. This includes:
- Contributing to Board discussions and decisions
- Helping shape the organisation’s direction and priorities
- Supporting good governance, financial sustainability and organisational resilience
- Bringing your own knowledge, experience and perspective to the Board
- Supporting the development of strong relationships across our community
Skills and Experience We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who can bring skills, experience and sound judgement to the Board. We are particularly interested in people with experience in:
- Finance, governance or organisational leadership
- Legal, HR, communications or fundraising
- IT, data, systems or evaluation
Previous Board experience would be valuable, but it isn’t essential. We also want to hear from people who could bring a fresh perspective to our governance and are ready to make a meaningful contribution.
We particularly welcome interest from younger people and from people who bring different perspectives and experiences from across the Taupō District.
Time Commitment
Approximately 4–6 hours per month, including Board meetings and some activity between meetings.
