Taupō Community Patrol works alongside the New Zealand Police through our national body, Community Patrols of New Zealand (CPNZ). We’re dedicated to keeping our town safe - day and night - by being the watchful presence that helps deter crime and assist police operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Patrol Taupō streets and public areas on rostered shifts

  • Stay in radio contact with police to report incidents promptly

  • Monitor and record suspicious activity, stolen vehicles, or property damage

  • Be part of special patrols during community events

  • Observant and safety-conscious

  • Good communicator and team player

  • Calm under pressure and able to follow procedures

  • Integrity and commitment to community wellbeing

Commitment Shifts are flexible - patrols can take place during the day or at night. Minimum of 4 hours per month, with training and ongoing support provided.
