Step into a peaceful world of purrs and whiskers at CARE Animal Rescue - Taupō's only no-kill shelter. We're offering a unique chance for compassionate animal lovers aged 16 and under to join our Cat Cuddling Team on weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing

Gently interact with our feline friends

Provide pats, chin rubs, brushing, and playtime with toys or lasers

Coax shy or nervous cats into confidence

Watch for and report unusual behaviour

Follow all Cattery procedures and disease management guidelines

Listen to and follow directions from our dedicated staff

The Impact You’ll Have You’ll provide love and healing to cats that have been abused, orphaned, or neglected. Your calm presence and gentle attention help transform their lives, making them more adoptable and emotionally secure. It’s not just cuddles - it’s care that changes lives.

Time Commitment Weekend sessions on Saturdays or Sundays. Hours are flexible to suit you, but consistency is encouraged.

Aged 16 or younger

Quiet, gentle, and responsible demeanour

Ability to follow hygiene protocols and staff instructions
