Team Member - Native Bush and Stream Revitalisation

Waiowhiro Stream Care Group

Our Care Group is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with a variety of different environmental activities (weeding, planting, picking up rubbish) that contribute to revitalising the environment in and around the Waiowhiro Stream that flows along the northern side of Kawaha Point, Rotorua. Our activities help restore the biodiversity in and around the stream. We have been going for 7 years and the results are already amazing.

Key duties are weeding, planting and rubbish collection and if you are up to it, contributing to the interesting and varied conversations. Once a year we get into the stream and remove the accumulated rubbish (an interesting day)

No experience is required and we work as a group, so there are plenty of experienced people around you to ask questions

You work at your own pace/fitness level and can take as many breaks as you like.

Flexible working. You can turn up when you can and stay as long as you can

Joining the group is as easy as emailing/phoning the Group Leader and we send out a reminder email each month, before each working bee
