Regular - more than 6 months

Training

We provide governance and other relevant training to Trustees, subject to budget.

Time required

- To complete any pre-meeting reading required - Attend Bi-Monthly Meetings in person (approx two hours per meeting) - Undertake responsibilities for respective trustee portfolios - Attend governance training, strategic planning and trustee evaluations as is necessary to ensure a high functioning and future driven board.

New board members are nominated and appointed by the current board on the basis of their skills and perspectives and their ability, capacity and availability to contribute. While the process is informal, the primary goal is to ascertain the commitment of the prospective board member to the kaupapa/purpose/vision of the Trust. This is achieved through interviews and meetings, reference checking where appropriate, and by the representations of the candidate. Candidates must agree to a Police Vetting check, and meet whatever health mandates/requirements are in place at the time. Appointments are open-ended. However, every appointed trustee will reconfirm their personal commitment to the trust every three years.
