As one of New Zealand's 63 Coastguard units across Aotearoa, Coastguard Opotiki, maintains, and operates their own dedicated rescue vessel. These amazing volunteers respond to the call for help 24 hours a day 7 days a week across Opotiki and beyond. Last year, Coastguard Opotiki volunteers responded to 16 calls for help, and are the reason 39 people came home safely.

Volunteering for Coastguard is a team effort – requiring just as much precision and effort off the water as it does in the midst of a rescue. Whether you’re an ace administrator, handy with a toolkit, a fantastic fundraiser, a brilliant bookkeeper or an accurate accountant, there’s a role for you at Coastguard Opotiki.
