Volunteer Treasurer Needed
Kaharoa Kokako Trust
A great opportunity to contribute to a well-established community conversation group and to be part of the efforts to support kōkako to thrive.
Our long-serving treasurer has decided to step down and we need a new one.
Having knowledge of the forest and conservation, or previous treasurer experience is not necessary but a sound financial knowledge is.
This volunteer role doesn’t require time in the forest, so it may suit someone who is keen to contribute, but not keen on a ‘boots on the ground’ type role.
This is a volunteer role that requires approximately 5-10 hours per month.
The treasurer is responsible for:
Attending monthly trustee meetings
Bank statement reconciliations
Managing Cash Flow
Accounts Payable
Managing investments
Monthly and Annual Financial reporting to the trust
IRD and Charities reporting
GST reporting
Preparation of an annual budget
Regularly monitoring and comparing project specific expenditure against funds available
It may be possible to delegate or share some of the tasks.

This is a great opportunity to be a part of helping one of our taonga bird species, the kōkako, to thrive.
