Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Volunteer Funding Manager. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in organizing and applying for funding opportunities to support the initiatives and programs of the NZNRYC. The Funding Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of our organization, thereby directly impacting the lives of refugee youth in New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Identify Funding Opportunities:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, including grants, sponsorships, and donations, that align with the mission and goals of the NZNRYC.

Proposal Development:

  • Collaborate with the team to develop compelling funding proposals and grant applications. Ensure that proposals are tailored to meet the requirements of each funding opportunity and effectively communicate the impact and importance of NZNRYC's initiatives.

Grant Management:

  • Manage the end-to-end process of grant applications, including proposal writing, budget development, and submission. Keep track of deadlines and requirements for each funding opportunity and ensure timely submission of applications.

Relationship Building:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential funders, sponsors, and donors. Effectively communicate NZNRYC's mission, goals, and impact to stakeholders and seek opportunities for partnership and collaboration.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Work closely with the team to fulfill reporting requirements for funded projects. Ensure compliance with funding agreements and provide accurate and timely reports to funders on the utilization of funds and the impact achieved.

Fundraising Events:

  • Assist in organizing fundraising events and campaigns to support NZNRYC's financial sustainability. Collaborate with the events team to plan and execute successful fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Passion for refugee rights and youth empowerment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Prior experience in fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit management is preferred but not required.
