Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our team as a Volunteer Social Media Manager. The primary objective of this role is to develop and implement engaging social media strategies to increase awareness, engagement, and support for the initiatives and programs of the NZNRYC. The Social Media Manager will play a crucial role in amplifying the voices of refugee youth and promoting a culture of inclusivity and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Develop and curate compelling content, including graphics, videos, and written posts, for various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn). Ensure that content is informative, engaging, and aligns with NZNRYC's mission and values.

Social Media Strategy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies to increase visibility, reach, and engagement across all platforms. Identify key target audiences and tailor content and messaging accordingly to maximize impact.

Community Engagement:

  • Actively engage with followers, supporters, and stakeholders on social media platforms. Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Foster a sense of community and dialogue around refugee youth issues.

Campaign Management:

  • Coordinate and execute social media campaigns to promote NZNRYC's initiatives, events, and fundraising efforts. Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Brand Management:

  • Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all social media channels. Uphold NZNRYC's brand identity and guidelines in all communications and interactions.

Partnership and Outreach:

  • Collaborate with the communications team to identify and leverage opportunities for partnership and collaboration with other organizations, influencers, and stakeholders. Expand NZNRYC's reach and influence through strategic partnerships and cross-promotion.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Passion for social justice, refugee rights, and youth empowerment.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and ability to generate engaging content.
  • Experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools and metrics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
