Conservation Amplified

Conservation Amplified is a Bay of Plenty charity on a mission to Make Conservation Mainstream. Local community groups are doing extraordinary things to help nature recover, but often don’t have the time or skills to share their stories, and their incredible work often goes unseen. We partner with them to bring a megaphone to their work and make it easier for people, particularly younger adults, to get involved. Through our People Helping Nature podcast, documentaries, social media and wider media coverage, we share stories of wildlife, ecosystems and the people helping it recover. This summer, we’re piloting Community Conservation Campaigns in the Bay of Plenty, combining storytelling with welcoming activities to help people get started and find ways for them to stay involved. We also combine conservation with adventure, using expeditions such as cycling the Danube to reach people beyond existing conservation circles, and we have future expeditions currently in development. We want conservation to be a place where more people find friendship, purpose, joy and fulfilment. A third space. Our volunteers contribute skills in content creation, editing, marketing and more to help make this happen, with opportunities to get involved locally or remotely.
