Taupō Timebank is a community-driven organisation dedicated to fostering self-sufficiency, sustainability, and skill-sharing in our local community. Through our various initiatives, we empower individuals of all ages to learn practical skills, connect with others, and contribute to a more resilient and environmentally conscious society.
Our key projects include:
🌱 Young Pioneers – Teaching children bushcraft, gardening, and hands-on outdoor skills.
🛠️ Upskillz – Helping young adults gain practical experience in carpentry, mechanics, gardening, and more.
🍎 Garden Exchange & Farmers’ Markets – Encouraging food resilience through local growing, trading, and sharing.
🔧 Repair Café – A community hub where volunteers help fix household items, reducing waste and saving resources.
♻️ Junktown – Rescuing excess donations from local charities and offering them to the public for a koha, keeping usable goods out of landfill.
🎶 Tamathon & Other Community Events – Bringing people together through fundraising, music, and shared experiences.
