Rural Youth and Adult Literacy Trust

RYALT provides free reading and writing lessons to rural or isolated teenagers and adults who struggle with these skills. Much of the tuition is by phone and mail as our students usually don't own computers and cannot afford internet. Most of our volunteers are e-volunteers - they work from home and communicate with us on a messaging service or by email or phone. We train volunteers to work as literacy coaches but also use many volunteers on the admin side of things - graphic art, grant writing, formatting documents, helping with writing reports, IT suppport for staff and coaches
