This position provides regular contact such as personal visits, outings or phone calls with the client and a volunteer must be able to provide a long term commitment. The role is to be a listening ear, a conversation for the client or ensuring that a person with dementia who lives alone is managing. Tasks include: To participate in all training required for the role as a befriender for Alzheimers Tauranga. To work with allocated families affected by dementia through support, visits and phone contact. To complete client records.
