Retail Assistant

We are looking for a vibrant, creative and energetic individuals to join our fantastic retail team as volunteers at our OpShopSocial retail store!

We are looking for volunteers who are keen to join our OpShopSocial team with regular volunteer hours - someone who loves the charity op shop world

OpShopSocial offers a fun and friendly team of people working within busy retail environment.  Our volunteers are loved by all and we make sure that that every team member feels valued and their voice is heard.

The Role

In this role, you will work within our retail store (and/or our warehouse). You will work collaboratively with our Shop Manager and Volunteer Coordinators to make the shop floor the best experience for customers it can be - to greet and interact with all customers and donors and provide outstanding assistance as required. You will be responsible for product pricing, displays, and replenishment, and be happy talking with customers and selling our beautiful, donated items.  The funds raised from the store support the foodbank and social services for our charitable organisation, Presbyterian Support Otago.

Hours: 

Our Shop is open Monday - Saturday 10.30 - 4.30pm and we offer volunteer shifts of 2-3 hours within these hours.  We will talk through your availability when we meet!

About You

You may have time available from a few hours a week and can commit to at least one shift each week.  You will enjoy being with people and support our customers to find treasures that inspire them.  You understand the value of volunteering and offering your time to support others.
