Are you interested in making a difference by curating information that supports and connects those effected by ME/CFS and long COVID in Canterbury and the West Coast?

The Newsletter Coordinator curates & writes the content and prepares the layout of our newsletter.

The newsletter is sent out by post and email every two months (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec). Go to our Website to view past issues.

The newsletter is currently in A5 booklet format, ranges between 20 to 32 pages, and contains a variety of information including;

  • Latest news
  • Promotion of upcoming events
  • Personal stories and experiences
  • Articles on managing the illness and supports available
  • Updates in ME/CFS Research
  • Recipes
  • Highlighting useful products and services
  • Graphic items

Full support and handover is available from the current Newsletter Editor.

Recent testimonies...

  • “If I hadn't met with the Nurse who validated my experience of my chronic illness and advocated for me with my GP to obtain a diagnosis, I would not be here. Life had got too hard."
  • "I love this organisation, so caring and respectful in everything that they do, and always looking to progress forward."

Did you know? People with ME/CFS, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis /Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and long COVID have a reduced level of functionality that means they cannot complete normal activities of daily living.

An additional burden is that doing too much physically or mentally can trigger Post-Exertional Malaise – a worsening of symptoms that can last for days or more.

Many people with ME/CFS are house or bed bound, are unable to work, and do not have access to adequate financial, home and mobility supports through the welfare and health systems.
