Trust Officer - Treasurer

Q-Youth is a by-youth, for-youth charitable trust that was established to advance and support the needs of gender and sexual minorities. The trust is run by part-time staff and volunteers, and is governed by a volunteer board of 4-10 trustees that meet once a month on a Sunday for 2-3 hours.

We are currently in need of a treasurer who can commit to an extra 2 hours per month on top of monthly board meetings, and who is willing to be contacted when needed for financial matters.

Tasks include:

• Preparing and presenting the monthly financial reports to the board

• Liaising with the manager about financial matters and the monthly reporting

• Supporting the manager with the developing of the annual operating budget

• Supporting the manager in preparing annual financial reports

• Presenting the accounts at the annual general meeting (AGM)

• Ensuring any financial decisions that are made are actioned

• Ensuring that appropriate accounting processes and controls are in place

• Ensuring that any recommendations from the auditors are implemented

Knowledge of finance is strongly encouraged. Previous board experience is encouraged, but not essential.
