Volunteer Social Media Content Creator

Flourish Op Shop is a community op shop in Sydenham, Christchurch, run by Nurture Trust. The shop helps support the work of Pregnancy Choice Christchurch while offering affordable pre-loved clothing, homewares and more.

We’re looking for a creative volunteer who loves social media and knows how to make content that people actually want to watch.

We’d especially love to grow Flourish’s following with a younger audience, so we’re looking for someone who understands Instagram and Facebook, can create fun and engaging reels and posts, and has a good eye for what feels current without being forced or overly polished.

You might be a marketing or communications student, content creator, or simply someone who has already built strong social media skills and would enjoy using them for a good cause.

The role could include:

• Creating reels, stories, photos and posts
• Showing off great op shop finds, displays and new stock
• Helping promote sales and special events
• Coming up with fresh ideas to grow our following and engagement
• Keeping an eye on what content is working
• Working alongside our team to capture the personality of Flourish

We’re looking for someone who is confident using social media, has a creative eye, is comfortable filming and editing simple content, and can work fairly independently. Experience with Canva, CapCut or similar apps would be helpful.

Most importantly, we want someone who can have a bit of fun with the role and bring their own ideas. If you already create social media content, we’d love to see a few examples of your work.

This is a volunteer role, and we’re happy to work with the right person around suitable hours and availability.
