Board Member - Treasurer (Volunteer)
About the Role:
As Treasurer, you will play a key role in the financial oversight and sustainability of our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to contribute their skills to a meaningful cause. Note: It would be helpful to include a link to your SEEK or LinkedIn profile.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial management and BAU operations of the organisation, including payroll, payments, expense claims and Xero reconciliation
- Financial reporting - prepare budgets and financial statements on a regular basis
- Present financial reports at monthly Board meetings
- Support the development of funding applications, accountability and financial planning
- Create and maintain protocols and processes for financial accountability
- Ensure compliance with financial and charitable regulations
- Provide support to National for our annual audit if required
We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field preferred
- Experience in accounting, finance, or a similar field
- Familiarity with financial software (e.g., Xero or similar)
- A good understanding of financial governance, reporting and forecasting
- Excellent communication and integrity
- Previous board or management experience (preferred but not essential)
