At Resource Recovery Devonport we are working to ensure that textiles don't go to waste. To that end, we are starting up a Textile Mend and Make session every Saturday 10am-noon.
We need volunteers with sewing and/or creative skills to help us find ways to upcycle textiles, as well as guide members of the public who wish to repair or upcycle.
This role would suit someone who is passionate about reducing waste going to landfill and has experience with sewing and/or textiles.
You role will entail:

Supporting members of the public with their textile projects

Actively looking for ways to re-use and upcycle textile waste

Maintain effective working relationships with all team members

Ensure that your contribution to the overall team attitude is a positive one

Take responsible care for your own Health and Safety and that of others

Cooperate with any reasonable Health and Safety policy, procedure or instruction

Report any injuries, incidents or risks to supervisor
