We are looking for kind-hearted volunteers to join the Elder Care Volunteer team at a care home for older adults. The primary objective for volunteers is to form lasting connections with residents in the hope of reducing loneliness and improving residents' wellbeing. Tasks may include chatting with residents, participating in games, and assisting staff with activities, among other things.
We are seeking volunteers who are available for an hour or two per week or per fortnight. Most volunteers spend one hour per week at the care home. This role requires a long-term commitment (6 months plus). A police vetting check is also required as volunteers are spending time with a vulnerable group.
Volunteers will receive online and on-site training prior to commencing the role.
