Van Assistant

Presbyterian Support have wonderful Day Programmes in Riccarton. This programme provides older people from the community an opportunity to meet up with others and share activities and experiences. The programme aims to keep the clients socially active and have enjoyable time away from home on one or two days a week.
The Morning shift is from 8:30am - 11:00am and Afternoon shift is from 2:15pm - 4:30pm one day a week.

The days available are either Tuesday or Friday
You may be the first person the client sees in the morning and the last person in the afternoon. It is really important that you are able to reassure the clients and support them safely to and from their home.
You will ensure that the client has everything for their day including their house keys. There are approximately 8 clients in each van.
The clients chat to each other in the van and there can be some lively conversation.
This is an important role, and a warm caring personality is what is needed. We need people that are aware of what is happening around them and have initiative as some of our clients are very frail.
We will provide with on-the-job training.
