Landcare Support
The Wangapeka Study & Retreat Centre supported by Volunteer Nelson
We are currently looking for support on the land, both to prepare for El Nino and general land care.
This includes cutting in firebreaks, track maintenance, clearing ladder fuel, mowing lawns, road maintenance and more.
Having experience working outdoors with both hand tools and petrol machinery is helpful.
Volunteers will be able to enjoy this wonderful land and the tranquility which comes with simply being here. To serve here is to step into the lifeblood of spiritual practice — to live alongside the teachings, share in community, and discover what service itself has to offer.
If there’s a retreat coming up and you would like to join in with parts of it, that can sometimes be arranged. It needs to be agreed with the teacher and course manager in advance. Talk to us about how to do this while remaining a volunteer.
