🌱 Volunteer Bookkeeper – Earth Action Trust

Location: Auckland / Flexible & Remote
Position: Volunteer Bookkeeper
Hours: Flexible, approximately 5-8 hours per week

Earth Action Trust is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Volunteer Bookkeeper to support our day-to-day financial administration and bookkeeping activities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to contribute their bookkeeping skills to a community-focused charitable organisation while gaining practical experience in New Zealand nonprofit financial administration.

Key responsibilities may include:

• Maintaining accounting records in Reckon
• Bank and credit/debit card reconciliations
• Processing and reviewing invoices and payments
• Assisting with payroll and contractor payment reconciliations
• GST and general account reconciliations
• Tracking grants, project expenditure and funding balances
• Assisting with grant accountability and expenditure reports
• Maintaining supporting documents and financial records
• Assisting with month-end and year-end bookkeeping
• Providing financial information to the Manager, Treasurer and Board when required

We are looking for someone who:

• Has bookkeeping, accounting or finance experience
• Has good attention to detail and is comfortable working with numbers
• Has experience with Reckon or similar accounting software
• Is organised, reliable and able to maintain confidentiality
• Has a basic understanding of New Zealand GST and bookkeeping practices
• Can work independently and communicate clearly with the team

Experience with charities, nonprofit organisations, grant accounting, payroll or Reckon would be an advantage, but is not essential.
