Kāpiti Business Chamber Board Member
Kāpiti Business Chamber managed by Volunteer Kāpiti

The Kāpiti Business Chamber is an independent voice for business, working at the intersection of community, public service, and private enterprise. The Chamber advocates for equitable decision-making, activates social learning spaces, and helps build the relationships that enable Kāpiti's economic growth and resilience. Its mahi includes workshops and courses, advocacy on issues affecting local businesses, networking events from informal coffee catch-ups to Business After 5 (BA5) evenings, and a dedicated Women in Business subcommittee.
The Chamber is looking for two to three people from a range of backgrounds to join the Board. The core commitment is a monthly meeting. Where possible, Board members also attend Chamber events — around once a month, shared across the Board.
If you have a particular interest in advocacy, youth employment, creative services, hospitality, or anything to do with supporting business, there could be the opportunity to lead or be part of extra project mahi. It's a great way to contribute to your local business community, grow your governance experience, and build connections across the district.
Training: A dedicated handover and explanation of how the Board works is provided, so the transition is seamless even if this is your first governance role.
