Resource Recovery Champion
COLAB Community Trurst is a community led collective comprising individuals, groups and organisations working collaboratively to achieve a well-supported, inclusive and resilient community.
About the opportunity
The Reusable Resources Centre, based at the Te Puke Recycling Centre, is a new community-led initiative rescuing good, usable items from landfill and giving them a second life through reuse, repair, resale and community learning.
Opportunities to be involved in:
- Dismantling tools, appliances and other items
- Repurposing items to give them a second life
- Building new items - garden beds, furniture, shelving
- Repairing bikes
- Donation collection drives - Heavy lifting may be required
- Running repair cafes
- Supporting or running workshops
- Sewing
- Tag and test electrical appliances and tool
Meet new people, learn practical skills, share your knowledge and be part of building something positive in our community. Your contribution will help keep useful items out of landfill, make resources more accessible and encourage a culture of repair and reuse—because every item rescued makes a difference.
