Playgroup Facilitator

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is a non-profit national organisation whose people are passionately committed to the well-being of children and their families. Plunket supports families to ensure children reach their full potential in the first 5 years of life. Services available include parenting advice and support, child health promotion and health education. This organisation was founded on volunteers and continues to value the contributions that volunteers offer in many areas of our work throughout New Zealand.

East Otago Plunket is looking for new volunteers to join our team to support the East Otago Playgroup in Waikouaiti. Working alongside the Community Services Co-ordinator, you can assist with:

• welcoming new families to Playgroup and helping create and maintain a warm, inclusive and friendly environment.
• setting up toys/activities and cleaning up after playgroup.
• having a little chin wag with the parents at playgroup and entertaining the children while mum has a cuppa.
• tapping into your creative side and helping plan activities for the Playgroup aimed at children 4 years & under. **

This role could be shared by several people working together or alternating weeks.

By offering just a couple of hours of support, you are contributing to the wellness of children and families in our local community.
