IHC Friendship Volunteer – Arty Crafty

Are you someone who enjoys good conversation, creativity, cats, and getting out for a walk?

We're looking for a friendly volunteer to spend time with a woman who has an intellectual disability and enjoys:

🍳 Cooking and trying new recipes
🎨 Arts and crafts projects
🚶‍♀️ Going for walks and exploring the local community
🐱 Chatting about cats

She enjoys sharing stories, trying new activities, and connecting with people who have similar interests. This role is all about building a genuine friendship, sharing experiences, and supporting inclusion in the community.

Whether you're baking together, creating something artistic, swapping cat stories, or enjoying a walk and a chat, your time can make a real difference.

What we're looking for:

• A warm, reliable, and friendly person
• Someone who enjoys meaningful conversation and shared activities
• No special experience required, just a positive attitude and willingness to connect

Time commitment: Flexible and can be arranged to suit both the volunteer and participant.

About the programme: 

• Volunteers must be aged 18 years or over 

• Volunteers should live in close proximity to the person they will be supporting 

• Full training and ongoing support is provided by IHC 

• Police vetting and reference checks are required before volunteering 

• Volunteer matches are carefully made based on shared interests, location and availability.
