The Nelson Community Toy Library is a not-for-profit organisation, administered by a small group of dedicated volunteer committee. Their membership base inlcudes both families on annual membership rates and also casual and grandparent membership over the longer term. Operating in a similar way to a public book library, they offer a range of quality toys, puzzles, games and learning activities for members to hire for a set period of time.
The Nelson Community Toy library is a member of the Toy Library Federation of New Zealand. Their vision is “Let the Children Play” with a mission statement "to actively promote play as being essential to the optimal educational, physical, psychological, social and cultural development of the child".
A volunteer is required to undertake repairs and improvements on toys as needed. May also need occasional assistance with building maintenance and improvements and on workdays.
Volunteers will gain:

Requirements
Interested volunteers must have/be:
- Experience in undertaking general handiman work with the skills and ability to do a tidy job.
- Fit and mobile enough to undertake the work at your own pace.
- Personable, polite, respectful, honest, reliable.
A police vetting check or MOJ check may be required.
A Police background check is required for this role.
