Hoa Motuhake Sports Trust managed by Volunteering Canterbury

Hoa Motuhake Sports Trust provides a Sports Mentoring Programme for at-risk and disadvantaged tamariki aged 7-12yrs - guiding them towards improved well-being and building confidence to engage in community sports. We support each young person for five years, but the Sports Mentoring Programme is just the first year, meaning a 12 month commitment from our volunteers.
We are on the hunt for a new team of Sports Mentors to support a new young people starting in our programme, and support them into community sport.
COMMITMENT: 1-2hrs weekly during school terms (1year)
WE PROVIDE:
All costs covered, including fuel vouchers Hoodie and tee Mentor starter pack Training + Workshops On-going weekly support and updates from the Trust
There are no special skills or qualifications needed to become a Sports Mentor. A good sense of personal and family values are the qualities we look for most. You don't even have to be sporty! The outcomes for our mentees have been immeasurable. The ability to say that you've helped give a young person an avenue for positive change is immeasurable too.
