The Gate Pa Community Centre is going to be a welcoming hub dedicated to supporting, connecting, and empowering the local Gate Pa community. The Centre will run a variety of programs, events, and daily activities designed to bring people together.

We are establishing a Volunteer Pool—a team of awesome, reliable locals we can call upon to lend a hand with day-to-day operations and special community events. Whether you have two hours a week or two hours a month, your time makes a massive difference!

Role Purpose

To assist staff in creating a warm, vibrant, and smoothly running environment at the centre, ensuring all visitors feel welcome and our community activities are a success.

Key Responsibilities

Because this is a general pool, tasks can vary depending on your interests and availability. You might help with:

• Welcoming & Hospitality: Greeting visitors, offering a cup of tea or coffee, and helping people find the information or activities they are looking for.
• Activity Support: Helping set up and pack down rooms for community groups, workshops, or fitness classes.
• Events: Assisting with community BBQs, seasonal celebrations, or markets (e.g. managing registration, serving food, or running stalls).
• Centre Care: Helping keep our common areas tidy, organised, and inviting.
• Administration & Tech (Optional): Helping with basic data entry, printing, or assisting community members with basic computer/phone questions.

Note: To ensure the safety of our community, some volunteer roles may require a standard police vetting check.
