Volunteer Trustee Opportunity: Life Education Trust Coastal Otago

Help support the children of Coastal Otago

About us

For generations, Life Education has supported tamariki across Aotearoa, helping children develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to make positive choices about their health, wellbeing, relationships, and future. Many of us will remember visiting Harold the Giraffe ourselves. Today, Life Education Trust Coastal Otago continues to deliver these important programmes to thousands of children throughout the region, from Dunedin out to Oamaru.

We know times are challenging. Families, schools, charities, and communities are all facing increasing pressures. In this environment, ensuring children have access to high-quality health and wellbeing education and support is more important than ever.

The Opportunity

You might be someone who went through Life Education yourself, who has children who have benefited from our programmes, or who simply wants to help make a difference for young people in Coastal Otago.

Our Trustees work together to provide strategic direction, oversight, and support to the Trust. We are now in the position where we are seeking new volunteer trustees to join our board.

We want great people who are passionate about supporting children and education in our community, and who can help ensure Life Education continues to make a positive impact for the next generation.

This is a voluntary, unpaid governance role that requires a level of commitment and capacity. Please only apply if you are able to make the time to serve on the board, we have a lot of exiciting projects in the pipeline and we need a team who can support this mahi.

Who we're looking for

We are based from Dunedin out to Oamaru and would love to hear from people in this area.

In particular, we welcome people with experience in:

Finance and fundraising Event planning Business management Community engagement and partnerships

That said, we welcome interest from anyone who believes in the work we do and wants to contribute. Effective boards benefit from diverse perspectives, experiences, and skills, so you don't need governance experience to apply.

If you are interested in hearing more about this role or wish to apply, please get in touch:
