Pre-Event Volunteers - NZ 10km & Race Walking Championships

We are currently seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support the planning and delivery of the 2026 NZ Road & Race Walking Championships.

Event Details:

• Saturday 29 August
• Lake Rotomanu, New Plymouth
• Time: Races from 9am to 3pm See New Zealand's top Road Runners and Race Walkers compete for New Zealand titles. There is also a social 5km event and a kids 2.5km event.

This event is run by Athletics New Zealand and we are looking for local volunteers to support.

These roles will involve meeting online fortnightly in the lead-up to the event, with an additional commitment of approximately 1–2 hours per week during July and August. No specific experience is required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to contribute to a successful event in your region.

Available roles are:

• Logistics Coordinator: A highly organised individual (ideally based near the venue) to act as the Event Director’s “eyes on the ground,” assisting with supplier coordination, site measurements, and delivery logistics.

• Officials & Volunteer Coordinator: Supporting the ANZ Officials Development Officer with recruiting officials, as well as leading volunteer recruitment, roster preparation, and on-the-day volunteer management.

• Ceremony Coordinator: Responsible for organising and coordinating prizegiving ceremonies.
