Help grow money-smart, future-ready young people across Marlborough and beyond!

FutureFX is about practical money skills and real-world confidence, for big future effects. Beginning in Marlborough, we are working alongside educators, whānau, and the wider community to help young people grow the confidence and capability to make smart financial decisions for life.

Following a successful proof of concept, we are now transitioning to the formal establishment of the FutureFX Charitable Trust. The current advisory committee, which has been integral to our development phase, is now seeking expressions of interest from people who wish to serve as inaugural trustees, to help shape and govern the next stage of this exciting initiative.

Why join us?

FutureFX has already generated strong community interest, support, and momentum. This is an opportunity to help strengthen youth financial capability through a connected learning ecosystem that aligns school, home and community – creating a proven model that can be replicated across Aotearoa.

You’ll have the chance to contribute your skills, strengthen your governance experience, and help build a practical, future-focused initiative with purpose, ambition and heart.

About the role

As a trustee, you’ll help support the purpose, strategy and sustainability of FutureFX Charitable Trust. You’ll contribute to good governance, sound decision-making, and long-term impact as the initiative grows from a strong Marlborough foundation.

This is a voluntary governance role. Trustees are expected to attend Board meetings, read papers in advance, participate actively and constructively, and contribute between meetings where needed.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking to form a balanced, high-functioning Board. We welcome interest from those who bring sound judgement, integrity, and a commitment to positive outcomes for young people. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be especially valuable:

• education and youth development

• enterprise, business, or finance

• te ao Māori and Te Tiriti-informed governance

• community development and stakeholder engagement

• working with diverse communities

• communications, marketing, or advocacy

• technology or artificial intelligence

• governance, leadership, or strategy

• law, compliance, or policy

We’re especially keen to hear from people whose lived experience, professional background, cultural perspective or community connections would strengthen the diversity and insight of our Board. We would welcome the inclusion of an emerging director, as well as a youth voice representative.

Expressions of interest

To express your interest, please send a short note to [email protected] by Monday 13th July, outlining why you would like to join the FutureFX Charitable Trust Board - along with a brief CV or LinkedIn profile.
